Learning more about WebQuests...

The WebQuest assignments seems to have various components to it. I think that in reading the articles it became easier to see the components of what makes up a WebQuest.I learned so much with just these three articles that were provided by Dr. Donovan. WebQuest consist of six important parts: introduction, task, process, resources, evaluation, and conclusion. In reading the articles I found that it is very important to be clear in every step, especially because the work that is done on WebQuest is done as groups on the computer. My target population for this project will be my fourth grade classes. From working with them I know that they are really good at working in groups and helping each other out with group tasks. I think that this WebQuest will challenge them because most of my students don’t have the opportunity to use the computers during school. In reading these articles I also found that it is important to find a topic that is open ended. My original topic I was thinking about was circuits. I’m not sure if this will work or not, but I would like to still try to keep on this topic and create an open ended question about circuits.

Instructional Project?

Gotta say, this project seems like its going to be hard!! BUT on the flip side, I'm also excited to get started on it because I know that it is going to be great to learn how to make a WebQuest, but not only that to be able to use what I have created with some of my students. I know that I want to create a science WebQuest. And since the fifth graders are going to be tested maybe I will focus on a fifth grade standard... But maybe I will choose a fourth grade standard because I know that they also are tested on those standards as well. And being that I teach science for ALL of NEW Academy, I can use the WebQuest for the fourth grade classes as well!!!

I have a feeling this assignment is going to be a challenge, but in the long run I think I'm going to love it.

Web-page

I just posted my web-page. I must say this was a crazy assignment to work on. It seemed very confussing to me at first, I couldn't figure out how to move things around!! But I must admit that Google has made things so easy to understand (once you sit and really look at the site).

This assignment was very frustrating at first but after sitting and giving it some time, I found that it was actually fun to be able to create a place for my students.

here is the link to what I made :)
